Chicago Bears Navy New Era 39THIRTY 2012 Draft Flex Hat

This hat is legit! No beating around the bush. Giant BEARS text and a big bear head right on the front. New era flag logo on the left and the traditional old school BEARS font on the back. I love this hat because you know exactly what it is. Nothing to distract you, just all Bears business. Also, I am on sort of a fitted cap kick lately and this fits that bill perfectly. We are gonna give this hat a rare perfect score.

Chicago Bears Hats Review: New Era Chicago Bears 2012 NFL Draft Fitted Hat – Black

April 30th, 2012 | No Comments

New Era Chicago Bears 2012 NFL Draft Fitted Hat - Black

I really like the look of this hat. It is fundamentally the same as the other draft hats – the only difference is that it is black. Maybe it is the sox fan in me, or all of the north/west/south side shirts I have seen in my life (black shirt, old english text in white, you know the ones!), but this hat just feels like Chicago to me.

The text and logo are all simple white on black which is cool, and the large bears head logo on the front is sort of an embroidered gray look that is subtle but cool. It adds texture to the front of the hat. This is the kind of hat I would like to get because it reps the bears and it reps Chicago!

Chicago Bears Hats Review: Chicago Bears Navy New Era 59FIFTY 2012 Draft Fitted Hat

April 30th, 2012 | No Comments

Chicago Bears Navy New Era 59FIFTY 2012 Draft Fitted Hat

All right, here we have the navy version of the 2012 draft hat. And I think I like it better than the tri-color version. Mostly because the bear head on the front has a little more life and contrast. Notice once again that this hat has a classic Chicago Bears Bear patch on the left side and a bright orange NFL shield on the back. This hat might seem a bit too flashy but the fact that it is on navy tones down the whole affair.

Also of note, on the navy hat, the white text with orange outlining looks a bit better. I think this is because it pops. That said, I am not sold on the angles that appear in the middle of each letter in the large CHICAGO text on the front of the hat. The fact that the hat doesn't say Bears but does say CHICAGO is interesting – might give the hat more of a city vibe which I am sure is very appealing to a certain segment of hat buyers.

Chicago Bears Hats Review: New Era Chicago Bears 2012 Training 39THIRTY Performance Flex Hat – White

April 29th, 2012 | No Comments

New Era Chicago Bears 2012 Training 39THIRTY Performance Flex Hat - White

This is a hat for the purist and the athlete. It is a basic white layout with a bit of angled blue embroidery to give the crown and brim a bit of edge. You get the traditional Orange C logo on the front and a new era logo on the site (the N Flag), and that is about it. The one cool thing about this hat is that it has an almost woven look which is a result of New Era's "NE TECH" technology which they tout as a system to provide superior cooling and UV protection in their hats. Not sure about all that but if there are any athletes out there who could let me know whether the NE TECH technology makes a difference, I would love to hear about it!

Chicago Bears Hats Review: Chicago Bears 2 Tone New Era 9FIFTY 2012 Draft Snapback Hat

April 29th, 2012 | No Comments

Chicago Bears 2 Tone New Era 9FIFTY 2012 Draft Snapback Hat

So here we goooo!! The Bears this off season have added a superstar receiver, a questionable first round DE, a bunch of great depth guys and every single one of them was sporting one of these brand new, New Era Hats. If you don't remember, last year was the last year for Reebok hats – starting this season, the NFL hat contract belongs to the company New Era. And it looks like they are coming out the gates swinging.

The first thing you are probably noticing is that the new "tone" for this years early hats is BIG and BOLD. These aren't particularly sporty hats. They aren't clean. Instead what we are seeing is BIG text and BIG logos. So with that said, let's take a look at this hat. First thing to notice is that the crown and brim are solid colors (navy, orange and white). There is no striping here which is a pretty big difference from what Reebok liked to do. The next thing to notice is that the Chicago Bears BEAR HEAD logo is prominently displayed both on the side as an iconic orange and navy patch, but also on the front in a sort of transparent gray manner.

The text treatment is something different – the orange outlines around the navy text add some interesting angles to the font. It is almost sort of faux olde english… that is the best way I can describe it. Not sure I how I feel about that particular aspect of the hat but in the end, I gotta say, I like it. In general I am not a huge fan of the bears head logo on hats but since this is the new seasons hat, I'm willing to roll with it. How about everyone out in reader land – What do you think? Finally, note that the opening above the snap back is a bit larger on this hat than we might traditionally expect. Not sure what to say about that other than I will need to see this hat in person.

Fabrics Used for Men’s Bath Robes

January 27th, 2012 | No Comments

Hey everyone – time for a little off-season change of pace. Check out this guest blog from my friend who is starting his own online store and wish him good luck!

Men’s bath robes are available in a number of colors, styles and sizes. One of the best ways to determine which bath robe is best is to choose the perfect material for his tastes and needs. Learning about both the benefits and the drawbacks of various fabrics commonly used to make men’s robes will help you come to an informed decision.

Perhaps the first type of fabric that comes to mind when you think about men’s bath robes is terrycloth. Terrycloth is a type of knitted or woven pile fabric, typically made from cotton, although synthetic fibers are sometimes used to create the material. It is absorbent as well as comfortable, making it an ideal choice to put on following a bath, shower or swim. As it is also comfortable, attractive and affordable, a robe made from terrycloth makes a terrific gift.

Microfiber is a synthetic fabric woven in a unique pattern that enables it to wick away even more water than cotton can. One of the downsides to a microfiber robe is that you cannot use fabric softener when washing it, as it may stain the fabric. You should also avoid washing it with any cotton items, as the microfiber will collect the lint that the cotton sheds. In addition, some people dislike the feeling of microfiber. Although it is soft to the touch, some weaves can snag dry skin.

Bamboo is also used to produce men’s bath robes that soak up moisture. Bamboo fabric is woven from strands of the pulp of the grass. Not only is this fabric soft and light, similar to cotton, it is also hypoallergenic and has antibacterial properties. This material must be washed in cold water on a gentle cycle, and line drying is best, so it does require some special care.

Men’s bathrobes are also available in other natural materials, such as silk and wool. Silk is luxurious and expensive, although it is extremely lightweight and not very absorbent. In addition, silk must be hand washed, air-dried and may require ironing. A silk robe might be a nice pampering gift for the “man who has everything.” Wool robes are extremely thick and heavy, making them an excellent choice for people who live in colder climates. Some find wool itchy and uncomfortable, and robes may require dry cleaning or hand washing.

Choosing the best men’s bath robes is a highly personal choice, so pick the fabric that you think best suits your man in a color and style that fits his personality and you cannot go wrong.

Chicago Bears Hats Review: Chicago Bears Adjustable Hat: 2011 Coaches Sideline White Pique Structured Hat

Chicago Bears Adjustable Hat: 2011 Coaches Sideline White Pique Structured Hat

I love this hat. It is clean and white, with the classic C logo and just the littlest extra touch of color on the brim. I won't lie, this is the kind of hat I will wear out to play golf or tennis. The blue stitching gives the hat form and lends a sporty look to the total package. What do you all think? Leave a comment and let me know. This hat almost makes me sad knowing that next year Reebok wont be making the NFL hats anymore, but it is what it is. Enjoy this excellent Chicago Bears hat by Reebok while you still can.

Chicago Bears Hats Review: Chicago Bears Flex Hat: Oversized Embroidered Flat Brim Flex Hat

December 5th, 2011 | No Comments

Chicago Bears Flex Hat: Oversized Embroidered Flat Brim Flex Hat

We're back in action at Chicago Bears Hats blog! This most recent hat is actually, pretty damn cool. As you may have noticed, this is what is considered as an oversized design. The C Logo on this hat is cocked and blown up  and I can see this working for a lot of people. It isn't my style, but if you are the kind of guy to rock a straight brimmed hat, I can totally see this working for you. My only strong criticism of this design is that the NFL logo on the back is oversized as well. It seems like too much. Still, all in all, a pretty cool look!
